Cindy, Sparkplug Ignite TPAC SummerStage with "Burn Your Playhouse Down"

Spark Plug Poster Cindy and two other fabulous Tulsa musicians have joined forces in the form of Sparkplug. Catch them Sunday, July 22nd, at 5 p.m. in the Charles Norman Theatre at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center when they present "Burn Your Playhouse Down." Tickets are $15, general admission; $22, reserved seating. (For tickets: Tulsa PAC box office at 596-7111 or www.myticketoffice.com) Sparkplug features the heated vocals and harmonica of Cindy Cain, the high lonesome tenor and guitar picking of Don Miller, and the fiery fretwork of Rusty Miller. PAC BackpageThe rocking roots trio debuted in April at the Cherry Street Farmer's Market and the Blue Dome Festival. Smack dab in the middle of summer, there’s no better time to take a hot ride with them across the musical map of blues, rockabilly, swing, country, Cajun, and points in between. Like all juke joint music, Sparkplug’s set list begs for a cold beer in one hand and a warm partner on the dance floor in the other. The show includes original tunes off Cain’s recent CD release, “In Your Impala,” which helped her garner the Tulsa World’s 2006 SPOT award for best Blues/R&B. She’ll also pull from the repertoires of Wanda Jackson, Kasey Chambers and Bessie Smith. For those who lean more toward George Jones or Hank Williams, you’ll find a new favorite in the tenor voice of Don Miller in his PAC debut.
